Mayor Jordi Ballart confirmed this Friday that Consum and Areafit will open new facilities in Terrassa's Parc Central Segle XXI to boost the local economy.

The Consum cooperative will open its fifth store in the city, creating up to 35 jobs. Meanwhile, Areafit will launch a 5,500-square-meter sports center, set to be one of the largest in Spain. The project aims to transform the area around Carretera de Montcada into a modern urban hub.

"This is a motor that has been renewed after a long halt due to various business and legal problems."

The underground parking, managed by Terrassa Mobilitat, will add 40 new spaces to accommodate the expected influx of visitors. This initiative is part of a broader urban plan that includes over 400 new homes in the Sala i Badrinas sector and the future construction of a local school.
