Couple Arrested in Rubí for Stealing 71 Mobile Phones Across Catalonia Nightclubs

Mossos d'Esquadra officers have arrested a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman in Rubí for allegedly stealing 71 mobile phones in nightlife venues and local festivals throughout Catalonia.

The investigation began when police tracked GPS signals from stolen phones to an apartment on Catalunya Avenue in Rubí. The couple reportedly operated in several cities, including Mataró, Salt, Igualada, Lleida, Tarragona, and Reus.
The arrest took place on March 1st at approximately 5:00 AM. Officers stopped the couple's vehicle and discovered four phones that had just been stolen from a nightclub in Mataró.
During a search of their home, police found false documentation, 250 euros in cash, and a notebook containing details on phone prices and upcoming festival dates. The suspects, who have 23 prior police records, have been brought before a judge.
