The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has arrested a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman in Rubí for allegedly stealing 71 mobile phones in nightlife areas and local festivals throughout Catalonia.

The investigation was launched after officers tracked several stolen devices to a single building on Catalunya Avenue in Rubí. Police believe the suspects began their criminal activity on March 1, 2025, using their home as a central warehouse for the stolen goods.
The couple's modus operandi involved traveling to towns such as Salt, Mataró, Igualada, Lleida, and Tarragona using rental cars. They primarily targeted young women, stealing high-end smartphones through pickpocketing or, occasionally, by force.
During the house search, police found forged documents, cash, and a notebook containing market prices for phones and a schedule of upcoming local festivals. The suspects, who have 23 prior police records, appeared before the Rubí Court on March 3.
