The first of five scheduled strike days at FGC, called by the Semaf union, began this February 24th with crowded platforms at Sabadell Plaça Major station.

Despite 50% minimum services being met during rush hour, passengers experienced irregular train frequencies. In Sabadell and Sant Quirze del Vallès, many commuters were unable to board the first available trains as they reached maximum capacity before arriving at the platforms.

"It was impossible to get on at Sant Quirze. I had to go back to Sabadell just to find a spot on a train to Barcelona."

Many travelers expressed surprise at the strike, noting that FGC services are typically reliable. The industrial action is expected to continue affecting the Vallès Occidental region throughout the week, with further disruptions anticipated during off-peak hours when service levels drop further.
