The Sant Roc square in Sabadell presented a great atmosphere this Sunday for the Festa Major castellers event. The human tower constructions by the local Saballuts and invited 'colles' (groups), Minyons de Terrassa and Jove de Barcelona, attracted thousands of people who filled the Town Hall square. The day, marked by temperatures exceeding thirty degrees Celsius, saw the presence of the city's mayor, Marta Farrés, and various councillors.
The Saballuts opened the event with a 'pilar de quatre caminat' (walking four-person tower) and managed to load a 7 de 8. Their main objective, a 2 de 8 with 'folre' (a specific type of support structure), could not be completed as it collapsed just before being loaded. The local 'colla' concluded their performance with a 4 de 7, a 4 de 7 with 'pilar', and two 'pilars de cinc' (five-person towers).
Meanwhile, Minyons de Terrassa delivered a notable performance, completing a 3 de 9 with 'folre', a 2 de 9 with 'folre' and 'manilles' (another structural element), and a 'pilar' of 7 with 'folre'. The Colla Jove de Barcelona also had a good showing, with a 5 de 7, a 4 de 7 with 'pilar', and a 4 de 7. The collaboration between the three 'colles' was one of the highlights of the day.
