The town of Sant Quirze del Vallès hosted a new edition of the Popular Festival Race, a sporting event open to all ages. This year, participation reached 466 runners, who completed the planned routes despite the hot conditions.
Categories D, E, and F, for individuals born between 1985 and 2008, saw the highest turnout, with a 5,000-meter course. In the overall standings, Joan Manuel Álvarez (from Barcelona) was the first to cross the finish line, followed by Àmbar Tomàs and Àngel de Juan, both from Sant Quirze del Vallès.
Categories A, B, and C maintained a highly participatory character. The courses were 800 meters for categories A and B, and 1,700 meters for category C. All participants received a medal, emphasizing participation over results.
The Mayor, Elisabeth Oliveras, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, David Garriga, and other council members, participated in the award ceremony.
The race's success was made possible by the collaboration of volunteers from local sports entities and Civil Protection, who ensured the safety of the circuit.
