The Terrassa City Council hosted this Wednesday, July 22nd, the swearing-in and credential delivery ceremony for the 12 new officers joining the Municipal Police. The event was presided over by the Deputy Mayor for Territory and Housing and Councilor for Security, Xavier Cardona, and the Superintendent and Head of the Municipal Police, Daniel Guillem.
The new team consists of 7 women and 5 men. These officers are integrated into the municipal security force after successfully completing the basic training course at the Catalan Institute of Public Security (ISPC) and an internal training course at the Terrassa Municipal Police, lasting 12 months.
With these additions, the Terrassa Municipal Police force now has 290 officers, approaching the council's target of 300 officers. The ceremony took place in the Council's Assembly Hall, followed by a ceremonial dispersal in the atrium.
This recruitment follows a trend of strengthening the police force. In June 2025, nineteen more officers joined the ranks, bringing the total to 279. Currently, there are eighteen more officers in training.
It is worth noting that Superintendent Daniel Guillem took over as Head of the Municipal Police on January 1, 2025, succeeding Antoni Flores. Guillem, a law graduate and higher diploma holder in Criminology, has been leading the force since then.
