The Terrassa City Council launched the tender this week for the renovation of 550 square meters of ceramic cobblestones on Carrer de la Unió, with a budget of 96,733 euros.

The tendering process, handled via a simplified open procedure to speed up deadlines, has a budget of 96,733.79 euros (VAT included). Interested companies can submit their offers to the Terrassa council until January 27.
The execution period for the works will be two months and they are expected to be carried out during the first semester of 2026. The action will focus on the section between Carrer Major and Salvador Espriu square, where the cobblestones show damage and irregularities.
The technical report indicates that Carrer de la Unió, located in the heart of the pedestrian zone and a commercial axis connecting Carrer Major with Raval de Montserrat, suffers “significant wear” due to the continuous traffic of loading and unloading vehicles, compromising pedestrian safety.
The works will involve lifting the damaged pieces, repairing the base, and installing new red ceramic cobblestones, characteristic of the area, using high-resistance mortar to ensure pavement durability. The renovation will be carried out in three phases to minimize disruption to residents.
