Both the men's and women's teams of CN Sabadell will have to compete in the preliminary round of the Champions League water polo. The change of era, with Enric Arnella at the helm of the women's team, means both squads must overcome this hurdle to reach the main competition.
The men's first team, coached by Albert Español, will compete in Group B from September 18-20 in Sabadell. They will face Brescia (Italy), Budva-Budvanska Rivijera (Montenegro), and the host, A-Polo Sport Management (Georgia). The top two teams in the group will secure a spot in the Champions League. The club has strengthened its squad this summer and is considered a contender alongside Brescia.
Meanwhile, the women's team, known as the 'seven-time European champions', will play in a preliminary round of the top continental competition for the first time in years. They have reinforced their roster with key players such as Nona Pérez, Paula Camus, and national team goalkeeper Martina Terré, along with international signings.
The Sabadell-based team is in Group D and will face Lille UC (France) and GZC Donk (Netherlands), as well as a derby against Terrassa. Unlike the men's team, the women's squad will be the host at Can Llong and is considered the favorite to advance to the Champions League.
