The wildfire in Sentmenat, in the Vallès Occidental region, remains active for the second consecutive day, with firefighters working intensely to control new hotspots and close the perimeter.

The fire, which began on Monday afternoon in the Mas d'en Sisa industrial estate, has already burned approximately 200 hectares. Meteorological conditions, with high temperatures and low humidity, are hindering firefighting efforts, according to the head of intervention for the Firefighters, Eduard Martínez. Teams have worked on 80% of the perimeter, but steep slopes and difficult access areas complicate its complete containment.
The urbanization of El Farell and the nucleus of Sant Sebastià de Montmajor, in Caldes de Montbui (Vallès Oriental), remain under confinement due to concerns that new hotspots could affect inhabited areas. These two mountain areas, home to about 300 people, have a single access road, which will be kept clear for emergency teams.
After a difficult night, firefighters anticipate that the fire will not be stabilized until the afternoon. Difficult moments were experienced on Tuesday due to the resurgence of the fire in several locations. In Caldes de Montbui, 35 people have been accommodated in hotels and one in a nursing home, while specific cases, such as that of a neighbor who was about to get married, were managed.

"The people who move here do so because we want to live in nature; I wouldn't change the place."

Fátima · resident of El Farell
Confined residents like Fátima are anxiously following the firefighters' work, although they value living surrounded by nature. From the town, efforts are being organized to deliver essential medicines and food to the residents confined in the mountains.
The rest of the fires that broke out simultaneously in Catalonia on Monday and Tuesday are now mostly stabilized or controlled. Notable among them is the fire in Les Gavarres (Baix Empordà), controlled after five days and burning approximately 2,200 hectares, affecting about twenty houses. The fire in Anoia is stabilized, with impacts on industrial warehouses and houses in La Pobla de Claramunt. The fires in Torrefeta and Florejacs (Segarra) and Savallà del Comtat (Conca de Barberà) are also controlled, as is the vegetation fire in Martorell (Baix Llobregat) and the forest fire in Basella (Solsonès).
