The traditional Rose Festival, organized by the Socialist Party of Catalonia in Cerdanyola del Vallès, took place in the Fontetes pine forest. The festive day included Sevillanas and line dancing performances by the flamenco school of the Banús Bonasort Civic Center, as well as a popular paella that gathered a large number of attendees.
During the speeches, various political figures addressed the audience. The discussions focused on fundamental issues for the city, such as the problem of access to housing, the need to build the Ernest Lluch Hospital, and the growing demand for places in municipal nurseries.
“"There will be many things left to do, but thanks to your support, we are here, fighting every day to improve this city and to make people want to live a little more."
The mayor emphasized the importance of all Cerdanyola residents having opportunities to dream, work, and live in the city. He highlighted the city's growth in areas such as Santa Teresa and Parc de l'Alba, aiming to facilitate youth emancipation and the return of those who had to leave.
Furthermore, the transformation of the Fontetes Municipal Market was highlighted, which has gone from having half of its stalls empty in 2019 to being completely full and renovated, including a new cooking classroom. This improvement was presented as an example of the municipal commitment to quality public services.
In the healthcare sector, it was reiterated that the construction of the Ernest Lluch Hospital is the most important territorial demand. Coinciding with the event, the Commission of Entities for Public Health of Cerdanyola-Ripollet organized a demonstration with nearly 1,000 people to defend public healthcare and demand the construction of this hospital center.
