The Gure Txokoa association in Sant Cugat del Vallès brings together ten local families who use Basque as a primary language for child-rearing through weekly social activities.

Established in late 2013 by Leire Irigarai, the organization provides a space for children to play and grow in their mother tongue. The goal is to ensure that Basque is perceived as a social language rather than one exclusively used with their mothers at home.

"We wanted to create a space for boys and girls where they had the opportunity to practice it and so it wouldn't be a language they only associated with their mother."

Every Monday at Casal Torreblanca, children participate in saioa sessions led by a monitor. These activities, ranging from theater to games, are conducted entirely in Basque. Treasurer Mikel Osinalde emphasizes that the association is open to everyone interested in Basque culture.
Upcoming events include the Korrika awareness run in Barcelona on March 21st, a traditional cod lunch on April 11th, and a Basque pelota (fronton) workshop scheduled for May 9th.
