The former Cerdanyola del Vallès councilor and Foc Nou leader, Helena Solà, announced her resignation from ERC this Sunday, citing a profound transformation of the party's values.

In a statement on X, Solà described her departure as a "painful but deeply meditated" decision. She criticized the party's current path, specifically mentioning the support for Salvador Illa as President of the Generalitat and the lack of a clear national project.

"The party I felt was mine since I can remember has ceased to be so. Where there was pride, today there is disappointment."

Solà, who ran for the party's leadership against Oriol Junqueras, also pointed out an excessive professionalization of politics within the organization. Her move follows other local departures in the Vallès Occidental region, reflecting internal tensions within the pro-independence formation.
