The meeting, held at the Casal Pere Quart, filled the auditorium and featured the prominent presence of the entity's president, Lluís Llach, and figures such as former Parliament speaker Carme Forcadell. The discussion served to provide an overview of the current state of the independence movement following the referendum of October 1, 2017, and the end of the Procés.
“"There are many demobilized people, but that does not mean they have stopped being pro-independence or have dismissed the idea that the best option for the country is to have an independent state."
Regarding immediate objectives, the ANC prioritizes the defense and promotion of the Catalan language, citing worrying data. The latest survey by Idescat shows that only 23% of the population in Vallès Occidental uses Catalan as their habitual language, a fact that Vice President Nohemí Zafra believes requires urgent solutions.
This is the second time in a few months that Lluís Llach has visited Sabadell as president of the ANC. Furthermore, the entity maintains a busy schedule, including a meeting of the national secretariat in Flix (Ribera d’Ebre) to define a position on the singular financing model.
“"It is not the solution; we will ask the parties to continue working for independence."
The ANC agenda also includes a mobilization next week at the Manresa courts to support a protester being tried for actions linked to the visit of King Felipe VI to Montserrat on June 23, 2025.
