This Monday evening, La Bassa de Sant Oleguer, Sabadell's largest aquatic facility, closes its doors, ending the summer season. This early opening on June 5th, a week before the others, sets the pace for the staggered closure of the municipal pools.
Following this schedule, the pools at Ca n’Oriac and Campoamor will close next Monday, June 7th, while those at Olímpia and Can Marcet will close on Sunday, June 13th.
Municipal pools have served as a key climate refuge during a summer marked by high temperatures. La Bassa, one of Europe's largest pools and an attractive facility in the region, welcomed approximately 165,000 visitors during the 2025 swimming season, according to official data.
The rise in summer temperatures, both day and night, has sparked debate about the need to rethink municipal pool opening hours, with proposals to extend both the days and hours of operation.
