The Rubí City Council has added the Mestre Martí Tauler Library to its municipal network of climate refuges. This summer, the building will offer an air-conditioned space to protect citizens from high temperatures during the hottest hours.
The building's opening hours as a climate refuge will be Monday to Friday, from 10 AM to 2 PM and from 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This differs from the Library's usual operating hours, which will maintain its specific summer schedule. This allows access to the building for thermal refuge even when the library service is not active.
With this new addition, the council expands the city's network of climate refuges, designed to provide favorable environmental conditions during extreme temperature episodes. These spaces are particularly intended for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, or individuals with chronic illnesses, but are open to all residents.
