The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) stations in Sabadell have closed the first quarter of 2026 with a historic passenger record, surpassing 2.13 million journeys.

Between January and April of this year, the city's five urban stations have registered an unprecedented volume of travelers, consolidating the upward trend of the railway service. According to FGC sources, the increase in passengers in Sabadell has been more significant than in other parts of the network, despite coinciding with the period of free travel on Rodalies.
March was the month with the highest number of users, totaling 569,274 validations, followed by April with 527,411. Compared to the same period in 2025, all stations in the city have experienced growth, with an overall increase ranging between 6% and almost 12%.
Sabadell Plaça Major station continues to be the busiest, accumulating 733,371 journeys during the first four months of the year. It is followed by Sabadell Nord, with 411,346 validations, and Can Feu-Gràcia, with 385,394.
Regarding percentage growth, Can Feu-Gràcia stands out particularly, registering a 13.41% increase in April compared to the same month last year, the highest figure among all Sabadell stations. Notable increases were also seen at Sabadell Plaça Major (+12.17%), Sabadell Parc del Nord (+11.43%), and La Creu Alta (+10.98%) during the same month.
Sources from the railway company indicate that the FGC network maintains a positive dynamic in Sabadell, with growth exceeding that of the rest of the Barcelona-Vallès line.
The data provided shows that while the overall increase in passengers on weekdays on the Barcelona-Vallès line has been moderate (between 2% and 3%), Saturdays have seen a surge of up to 18%, and Sundays have recorded a 5% increase. This suggests increasingly intensive use of the service during weekends. Across Sabadell, year-on-year increases have reached 8% so far this year, confirming the sustained expansion of railway demand in the city.
