This summer, several towns in the Vallès Occidental region have opened or expanded their water play areas, providing refreshing and free alternatives to combat high temperatures. These spaces, which combine fountains, sprinklers, and interactive features, are becoming attractive climate refuges for families, complementing facilities like municipal swimming pools.
In Cerdanyola, the water games at Cordelles park and the playful fountain at Parc del Turonet are already operational. Operating hours vary by date: until June 7th, weekdays from 3 PM to 8 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 8 PM; from June 8th to September 6th, hours will be daily from 10 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 8 PM. The Cordelles installation, inaugurated in 2020, uses a recirculation system and UV disinfection for water efficiency.
In Castellar del Vallès, Plaça de Catalunya hosts the inauguration of the La Balena water play area this Friday, featuring live music and bar service. The area, operating with water recirculation, will be open daily from 10 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM, with a capacity limit of 200 people. Improvements have been made to the furniture and surroundings.
In Sabadell, in addition to the fountains on the Plaça Major promenade, the Parc de les Aigües will be open from June to September, Monday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 8 PM.
In Sentmenat, the Aigua park in Plaça de l'1 d'octubre, which has undergone comprehensive pavement renovation, will open on the first weekend of June. The planned hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 9 PM; and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 10 PM.
Finally, in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Europa park will open its facilities on June 13th. Once operational, the hours will be Monday to Sunday from 11 AM to 2 PM and 3:30 PM to 7 PM.
