The exhibition, selected by the Efímer'art jury, is the result of over a year of work, including research and interviews with women who faced significant inequalities and the burden of the double shift. The artist has employed various artistic techniques to convey this narrative.
The show features large-format posters highlighting gender inequalities, an installation with thirty photographs from the book Treball de dones; més enllà de l’oficialitat (Women's Work; Beyond Officialdom), and original illustrations from the book Grans artistes, però dones (Great Artists, But Women), a tribute to Conxita Morral and Roser Muntanyola.
An introductory audiovisual presents testimonies from the women interviewed for the project. Artist Iris Garcia explained that the project originated from conversations with her grandmother and thanked all the women who 'wove this revolution' and publicly addressed the inequalities they endured.
Garcia Serra became emotional while thanking her partner, calling him a 'clear example' that domestic chores and childcare should not be solely women's responsibilities. She described the exhibition as a tribute to her grandmother and all revolutionary women, urging attendees to share their stories to prevent their experiences from being forgotten.
The Councillor for Culture, Tamar Zamora, noted that the exhibition captures the collective memory of women from Santa Perpètua who experienced not only an industrial but also a feminist revolution. Mayor Joan Carles Mingueza highlighted that this cultural event marks the beginning of the local festival and offers a way to understand origins and history through art.
