The 2026 National Communication Awards recognize prominent figures and entities

The Generalitat has announced this year's awardees, including Justo Molinero, Esther Vera, 3Cat, RAC1, and RTVE Catalunya, among others.

The Generalitat de Catalunya has announced the winners of the 2026 National Communication Awards, to be presented on May 19 at the Teatre Principal de Sabadell, highlighting the careers of professionals and media outlets.

The Executive Council has ratified the awards, which are granted in recognition of excellence in the field of communication in Catalonia and in the Catalan language. This edition marks the second consecutive year that the ceremony is held outside Barcelona, with Lleida scheduled as the venue for 2027.
The National Honor Award has been bestowed upon Justo Molinero, for his extensive radio and business career at the helm of Radio Tele Taxi. The jury praised his contribution to dignifying popular radio and transforming it into a tool for social cohesion, connecting with thousands of listeners and integrating generations of immigrants with a direct and empathetic style.

Journalist Esther Vera has been recognized with the National Press Communication Award for her work in consolidating the ARA newspaper as a benchmark, highlighting its hybrid model and adaptability to new consumption habits. The 3Cat platform received the National Digital Communication Award for its consolidation as a useful audiovisual environment connected with young audiences.
In the radio sector, RAC1 was honored with the National Radio Communication Award for surpassing one million daily listeners, establishing itself as an undisputed leader. RTVE Catalunya received the National Television Communication Award for its sustained defense of the Catalan language since its first broadcast on October 27, 1964, recently reinforced with the launch of La2Cat.
The National Proximity Communication Award was granted ex aequo to Diari de Sabadell, for its trajectory as a leading local journalism outlet, and to the program Hospital de proximitat, co-produced by TV Mataró and the Xarxa Audiovisual Local (XAL), for its sensitive approach to healthcare realities. Finally, Banc Sabadell received the National Advertising and Corporate Communication Award for its campaign during the BBVA's takeover bid process, which connected with small shareholders and was crucial for maintaining the bank's independence.
