The Terrassa City Council expects to complete the rehabilitation of the Masia Freixa by May 31st, transforming this Modernist jewel into a fully accessible museum space for the public.

The project focuses on preserving original materials, including the restoration of hydraulic floors and wooden window frames. A significant structural discovery was made during the works: the original metal tensioners that support the building's iconic vaults will now be visible to visitors through glass partitions.

"We always try to conserve first. We only replace what is heavily deteriorated."

Ramon Vidal · Municipal technical architect
Funded by 1.8 million euros from the Next Generation EU funds, the renovation also removes previous architectural barriers. Once reopened, the upper floors and the watchtower will be accessible via guided tours with limited capacity to ensure structural safety.
