This meeting, aimed at hospital professionals, Primary Care staff, and nurses, has as its main objective the updating of knowledge on digestive system pathologies that generate a greater number of consultations in both emergency services and Primary Care.
The conference will begin at 08:15 AM with the inaugural session, led by the medical director of the Healthcare Service Area of Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa (HUMT) and the head of the Digestive System Service. Subsequently, the first part will focus on referral pathways and access circuits to the service, as well as the management of complex cases, such as the presence of foreign bodies in the digestive system, from various healthcare perspectives.
The program includes a review of clinical practice on atrophic chronic gastritis, with emphasis on its diagnostic and follow-up implications. Monographic units will also be analyzed, with special attention to hepatology, highlighting the importance of collaboration between medical and nursing staff in this pathology.
After a break, the session will continue with current topics such as the role of microbiota in food intolerances and bacterial overgrowth. Finally, the eosinophilic esophagitis and celiac disease unit will be presented, detailing the management protocol for these diseases, the relevance of nutrition, and the specific challenges they pose in the pediatric field.
The meeting will conclude at 2:00 PM, with the participation of nearly 20 professionals from HUMT, including specialists from the Digestive System, Surgery, and Pediatrics services, as well as nursing and nutrition professionals.
