A new digital platform called Xarxa de favors has recently been launched in Terrassa with the aim of promoting collaboration and support among the city's residents.

This online tool allows users to request and offer assistance, establish social contacts, and make exchanges free of charge. Its creator, a Terrassa resident with a background in psychology, conceived the project inspired by the film Pay It Forward, seeking to create a space where people can help for personal satisfaction, without expecting any financial gain.

"The project aims for people to have the opportunity to help someone else for pleasure and personal satisfaction, without expecting anything in return. It is not a time bank, nor do I want participants to gain economic profit from it."

The platform, developed with the help of artificial intelligence, places special emphasis on creating a network of contacts and a community based on selfless help. To ensure proper use, Xarxa de favors has clear regulations that explicitly prohibit any economic transactions, ensuring it does not become a space for buying, selling, or contracting services.
The website's operation is intuitive, with visual categories for
«I need help», «I offer help», «exchange/donations», and «activities/socialization». Messages include the publication date and a direct contact button via WhatsApp, facilitating communication without intermediaries. Since its launch, the platform has seen a steady increase in participants, with offers ranging from sewing services to children's clothing donations, and requests for training groups or IT support.
With over a hundred participants, it is expected that Xarxa de favors will continue to grow, diversifying requests and fostering age diversity among the residents of Terrassa.
