The Government of the Generalitat presented the updated Rodalies Plan 2020-2030, excluding the planned passenger station at Terrassa Oest (Can Boada) and restricting it to a purely technical function.

The plan update, presented on Tuesday, reduces the infrastructure in the Can Boada sector to a technical station. This type of railway installation lacks platforms or passenger access, being exclusively intended for logistical and maintenance tasks such as shunting, parking, cleaning, or crew changes for trains.
This decision represents a significant setback for the city of Terrassa, as the project for a passenger station in Can Boada had been on the local political agenda for decades. Previous Rodalies plans, both the 2008-2014 and the earlier version of the 2020-2030 plan, did include this infrastructure as an essential stop for internal mobility.

The decision to limit the Can Boada station to technical use severely harms the internal mobility of Terrassa, leaving the city without a priority infrastructure.

Mayor Jordi Ballart expressed his indignation regarding this modification, as the Terrassa Oest infrastructure was considered fundamental for improving connectivity and public transport within the municipality.
