This week, out of 380 samples analyzed, nine tested positive, representing 2.4% of the total. Since November 28, the date of the first positive, 4,858 wild boars have been examined, with 306 confirmed cases and 4,552 negative.
In the last week, 322 wild boars have been captured within the infected zone, which includes high and low-risk areas. These captures were carried out by personnel from the Department of Interior and Public Safety (Rural Agents and Mossos d'Esquadra), hunting societies, the Special Group for Forest Fire Prevention (GEPIF), and wildlife control teams from Tragsa. The total number of captures in the infected zone amounts to 4,925.
Currently, nineteen municipalities are within the high-risk zone, including Castellbisbal, Badia del Vallès, Barberà del Vallès, Cerdanyola del Vallès, El Papiol, Molins de Rei, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Montcada i Reixac, Polinyà, Ripollet, Rubí, Sabadell, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Sant Quirze del Vallès, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Terrassa, Sant Just Desvern, Esplugues de Llobregat, the enclave of Barcelona, and the access points to the Collserola Natural Park.
In Castellbisbal, access restrictions have been implemented for forest areas and forest tracks to minimize unnecessary circulation. Although access to homes and authorized activities is permitted, it is mandatory to disinfect vehicle wheels and shoe soles when leaving these spaces. As a preventive measure, the three picnic areas in the municipality (Can Campanyà, Font del Canal, and by the Llobregat River) have been closed, and all activities in the natural environment have been canceled. The Castellbisbal City Council calls for citizen responsibility and collaboration, as these measures will remain in place until further notice from the competent authorities.
