Citizen security and coexistence in Terrassa have been reinforced following a new coordinated police operation. Last Tuesday, officers from the Municipal Police and the National Police conducted a joint action at the Terrassa Est station. The primary objective of these operations is to prevent uncivil behavior, improve public space security, and maintain neighborhood harmony.
As a result of this intervention, 17 individuals were identified. Furthermore, four reports were filed for possession of narcotic substances, and two summonses were issued related to irregular administrative situations. These actions are part of a preventive and control strategy that police forces are jointly implementing in various strategic points across the city.
The Terrassa City Council has emphasized that these operations aim to increase the perception of security, detect behaviors that may disrupt coexistence, and ensure compliance with current regulations. Mayor Jordi Ballart has highlighted the importance of collaboration between different police forces as a fundamental tool for guaranteeing citizen security and coexistence, enabling a more effective response to potential infractions and better addressing residents' needs.
These types of joint police operations are a common practice at Terrassa's train stations. On June 26th, a similar operation between the Municipal Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra at the Renfe Est and Terrassa Nord stations, as well as in Rosa Parks square, led to the identification of 191 people. On that occasion, twelve fines were issued for drug possession, three for weapon possession, and one person was investigated for misappropriation. Additionally, four individuals were arrested for irregular administrative status, and two more were taken to the police station for identification. An establishment was also fined for tolerating drug consumption.
