Pere Menéndez wins Catalonia Trail Championship in Els Hostalets de Balenyà

The Unió Atlètica Terrassa runner secured the absolute title at the 14th Cursa del Roc Gros.

Athlete Pere Menéndez, representing Unió Atlètica Terrassa, was crowned absolute Catalonia trail champion this Sunday, March 22, after finishing first in the 14th Cursa del Roc Gros.

The runner from Terrassa dominated the 21-kilometer race held in Els Hostalets de Balenyà, crossing the finish line in 01:38:19. He shared the podium with Ïu Net and Aniol Pujiula, who took second and third place respectively.

"This year was the first time I competed in the absolute category and, above all, the goal was to qualify for Oviedo, rather than winning."

Menéndez, who won the sub23 category last year, successfully transitioned to the senior level. This victory guarantees his participation in the Spanish Championship in Oviedo.
In the women's category, Núria Tarragó claimed the absolute title with a time of 01:54:39. Other winners included Jorge Font and Gabriela Lasalle in the sub23 divisions.
