Teachers from Girona and the metropolitan area blocked major routes such as the C-58 and access points to Mataró this Thursday, March 19, marking the fourth day of strikes.

The protest began early in the morning in the Vallès Occidental region. Approximately 200 protesters blocked traffic on the C-58 highway between Sant Quirze del Vallès and Sabadell. The group had previously gathered at a nearby shopping center parking lot.
At the same time, in the Maresme region, another group of educators prevented vehicle movement in Mataró. Supported by local Bombers (firefighters), protesters blocked the entrance and exit of the city via the C-60 highway before 8:00 AM.

"As teachers, the power we have is to stop the country a bit; we are not a productive activity, we need to generate inconvenience to be heard."

The education sector criticizes the agreement reached by the Government of Catalonia with the CCOO and UGT unions, calling it insufficient. Strikers demand that the Education department return to negotiations to address the collective's demands.
