The Rubí City Council has this academic year increased its commitment to intensive Dual Vocational Training (FP Dual), expanding from ten to fifteen the number of contracted students and from two to three the collaborating educational centers. The J. V. Foix Institute joins L'Estatut and La Serreta institutes. Rubí stands out as the only city council in Spain that offers this training through an alternating training contract, rather than a scholarship.
The mayor, Ana María Martínez Martínez, accompanied by the Councilor for Employment and Enterprise, Juan Antonio Brustenga Majó, welcomed the new students. Martínez emphasized the importance of the administration opening doors to young talent, arguing that "if we ask companies to bet on training and young talent, the administration must also open its doors and generate opportunities." She highlighted vocational training as "demanding, specialized, and connected to the real world".
Dual vocational training is based on collaboration between educational centers and companies. Students receive part of their training at the center and the rest through training and productive activities at the company or council. After an initial adaptation phase of one hundred hours, the young people have begun a paid internship with an alternating training contract until June. The mayor stressed that their work will provide "a service to the citizens of Rubí" and expressed the hope that the experience will help them grow professionally.
The students are pursuing vocational training cycles such as CFGM Administrative Management, CFGS Network Systems Administration (ASIX), CFGS Multiplatform Application Development (DAM), CFGS Administration and Finance, CFGM Care for Dependent Persons, CFGS Early Childhood Education, and CFGS Social Integration. They will join teams such as Social Services, the Rubí Forma Employment Service, Cooperation and First Welcome, Active Elderly Service, Youth Service, Education (nurseries and edRa School of Art and Design), and Technology and Information Systems, and Urban Maintenance.
During the meeting, two final degree projects from students of the previous cohort were presented: Mario Palenzuela (CFGS DAM) and Ainara Pregigueiro (CFGS Social Integration). This is the sixth cohort of Dual FP students at the Rubí City Council, and 83% of participants have found employment afterward.
