The cultural offering combines cinema, music, literature, thought, creativity, and science. Registrations for activities requiring them will open on Monday, September 7th, two weeks before the program begins, and can only be completed online via the municipal website until places are filled.
Among the new features is the reading seminar Political Thought, led by Wenceslao Galán, which will explore modern political thought based on works like The Prince by Nicolás Maquiavelo. This seminar will be held bi-weekly on Tuesdays, from September 22nd to December 15th, with a maximum of twenty participants.
Also included is the conference Gaudí, genius of modernism, by Natalia Giménez, reviewing the architect's career as part of the centenary commemorations of Gaudí across Catalonia. The session will take place on September 30th.
The film program continues its collaboration with El Documental del Mes, featuring four free screenings on Fridays September 25th, October 30th, November 27th, and December 18th at 7 PM in the Sala Noble.
Music highlights include the 14th Jazz Cycle, promoted by Associació Jazz Rubí, featuring concerts and jam sessions. The first concert will be by the trio of Dani Pérez, Horacio Fumero, and Guillem Arnedo, on Saturday, October 17th.
Poetry will be explored through Tardes de Jazz i Versos, with authors such as Carles Dachs (October 16th), Amanda Bassa (November 13th), and Ruralitats (December 11th).
In literature, notable events include the cycle Llegim-les: Retrats de dona en la poesia, dedicated to Gabriel Ferrater and led by writer Marina Porras (sessions on October 14th, November 11th, and December 16th), and the Criminal Reading Club with three free proposals requiring prior registration.
Opera enthusiasts can enjoy the cycle Cuéntame una Ópera, presented by tenor Marc Sala, covering works by Gaetano Donizetti, Pauline Viardot, and Giacomo Puccini.
The thought program is rounded out by the reading seminar of Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit, also directed by Wenceslao Galán, focusing on social life, culture, and freedom.
Regarding creativity, a watercolor course taught by Marta Barceló García and creative writing workshops led by Josep Amorós are offered.
In the family sphere, activities include Arte y creatividad familiar and the workshop ¡Títeres monstruosas! for children aged 6 and up, scheduled for October 10th.
Finally, astronomical observations organized by the Associació d’Amics de l’Astronomia will continue on Fridays at 9:30 PM at the Ateneu's turret, weather permitting.
