This data places the local unemployment rate at 9.4%. The year-on-year variation is more significant, with a reduction of 3.7%, equivalent to 147 fewer unemployed people than twelve months prior.
At the regional level, the Vallès Occidental maintained near-total stability, with a minimal monthly variation of 0.01% (only 4 fewer people). The total number of unemployed in the region is 41,570. This dynamic contrasts with the general trend in Catalonia, where unemployment rose by 0.6% during the same period.
Despite the monthly increase, Catalonia registered the January with the fewest unemployed since 2008, with 325,214 people, 3.4% less than twelve months earlier.
Regarding municipal data, Ullastrell (-3.1%), Badia del Vallès (-2.7%), and Sant Quirze (-2.3%) experienced the most notable drops. Conversely, unemployment rose significantly in Gallifa (33.3%), Rellinars (11.8%), and Sant Llorenç Savall (2.8%). The lowest rates remain in Matadepera (3.7%) and Sant Cugat del Vallès (5.0%), while Badia del Vallès (14.3%) maintains the highest rate in the region.
