The Animal Blood Bank in Sabadell has issued an urgent appeal to cat owners as feline blood supplies reach critical levels due to high international demand.

Operating since 2009, the center provides blood products to veterinary clinics in Spain and Portugal. Operations director Elena Burjachs emphasizes that while dog blood stocks remain stable, feline blood is distributed almost as soon as it is collected.

"There is a constant queue of felines waiting; what we extract from cats is distributed almost immediately."

Veterinarian Lucía Krasnov explains that cat donations are more complex than dog extractions, often taking over 30 minutes. Each successful donation can save up to three lives, making every donor crucial for the bank's survival.
