The event, which is usually held at the monolith in Montserrat Roig Square, was moved indoors. It followed the theme 'Uniting Generations' established by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and featured the group Swingcopats, as swing and jazz were musical styles persecuted by Nazism.
The importance of continuing to explain the events 81 years after the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp was highlighted. According to municipal data, 63 people born or residing in Sabadell were deported to the camp, 40 of whom died and 23 survived.

The event was attended by representatives of victims, all municipal groups, and the great-granddaughters of one of the deportees, Eugeni Arqués Simó, Núria and Roser Basaurto, who traveled from Mexico.
