The Sabadell En Comú Podem municipal group has submitted a motion calling for an extraordinary extension of rental contracts expiring between 2026 and 2028 in Sabadell.

The initiative aims to address the expiration of contracts signed during the Covid-19 pandemic. According to data from the Catalan Housing Agency, this situation could affect more than 3,000 families in Sabadell alone over the next three years.

"The Sabadell government has the obligation to demand that the Generalitat activate all powers to guarantee the right to housing."

Joan Mena · Spokesperson for Sabadell En Comú Podem
On a regional scale, the party warns that nearly 150,000 households in Catalonia could be at risk during 2026. The motion, to be debated on February 18, urges the Spanish Government to strengthen housing protection laws.
