The teaching community in Sabadell continues its standoff with the Department of Education this March 2026, scheduling new strikes to protest against workload and lack of resources.

The Institut Vallès has become a focal point for the movement in the city, organizing joint actions with the Catalunya school. Teachers report a significant increase in mobilization due to what they describe as an unsustainable situation in public classrooms.

"We are holding assemblies and more people are joining because the situation is overwhelmed. We feel undervalued and unheard."

Key grievances include high student ratios in secondary education, reaching up to 33 students per classroom. Educators argue that this, combined with increasing classroom diversity and excessive bureaucracy, prevents proper individualized attention.
A protest march is scheduled for Thursday, with columns of teachers departing from locations such as Plaça Espanya. The demonstration will converge at 11:30 AM at the Regional Education Services in Sabadell.
