The initiative aims to replace current facilities, which show significant wear due to age. In Can Feu, the project involves replacing 188 light points, including street and facade lamps, with an estimated budget of 521,000 euros.
Regarding carretera de Barcelona, work will focus on the section between Latorre and Ramon Llull streets, as well as plaça del Mestre. In this area, 31 street lamps and all associated electrical infrastructure will be renewed, with a budget of 323,000 euros.
The municipal plan includes the comprehensive renewal of supports, wiring, conduits, and control panels. These works are part of a broader program currently active in Can Deu and recently completed at passeig dels Almogàvers.
The council's ultimate goal is for 95% of the city's lighting to operate with LED technology. According to estimates, this transition will allow for a reduction in electricity consumption of over 60% in areas where modernization has been completed.
