The celebration will begin on Wednesday, September 10th in the afternoon with a talk by journalist Carles Sabaté titled “The birth of Diari Avui. Its importance for the language and the country”. The session will take place at 6:30 PM in the Muriel Casals hall.
This activity is part of the exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Diari Avui, hosted by the Casal Serra de Galliners, which can be visited until September 18th.
The day will continue in the evening with the concert 'D’un temps, d’un país. 30 anys', by Borja Penalba and Meritxell Gené, at the Josep Brossa hall of the Patronal. The show pays tribute to the great names of Nova Cançó and to figures such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Maria del Mar Bonet, Lluís Llach, Raimon, and Ovidi Montllor.
The events on September 11th will begin at 11 AM in the Morisques park with the raising of the estelada, carried out by the Societat Coral Il·lustració Artística, celebrating its 125th anniversary.
Following this, there will be a floral offering at the monument of Rafael Casanova, with performances by the Coral Il·lustració Artística and the Colla de Gegants i Grallers de Sant Quirze.
