The initiative, part of the initial actions of the Escola de la Pau (School of Peace), seeks the involvement of schools, entities, and citizens in a transversal municipal project. Throughout the academic year, the Consell d’Infants (Children's Council) will also participate in the Escola de la Pau, contributing the children's perspective.
Anyone wishing to participate can join the Crida per la Pau (Call for Peace) through a photocall set up in front of the Casa de la Vila (Town Hall) from 10 AM to 2 PM. In the afternoon, from 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM, it will move to the Biblioteca Marcel Ayats (Marcel Ayats Library). Citizens can share their photos on social media using the hashtag #DiaInternacionaldelaPau and mentioning @ajsantquirze.
The activity will be facilitated by the Ateneu del Món (World Atheneum) and the Plataforma Benvingudes Refugiades (Welcome Refugees Platform). These organizations will also read the Manifest per la Pau (Manifesto for Peace) at 12 PM in the Plaça de la Vila, following a minute of silence.
In the afternoon, at the Biblioteca Marcel Ayats, young people from Canya Jove will prepare peace logo badges for anyone who wishes to take one. The proposal aims to highlight the municipality's commitment to peace and to continue the project throughout the year.
