Five young members from the Children's Council and Adolescent Council, Iria Carmona, Laia Batllés, Júlia Gurri, Laia Moya, and Biel Castro, were responsible for delivering the proclamation. They advocated for the role of children in the festival and highlighted the efforts of everyone involved in making the celebration possible. They also called for responsibility and respect for the environment, emphasizing the importance of recycling and enjoying the festival consciously. The proclamation concluded with a message of enthusiasm and respect: "This festival is also ours, and we want to experience it with enthusiasm, energy, and respect."
Mayor Elisabeth Oliveras welcomed attendees before the children's speech, in an event that marked the official start of the Major Festival with the presence of numerous families and citizens.
The celebration continued at the Plaça dels Avis with the traditional lantern dance, accompanied by the acoustic duo Vovo Music. This activity filled the space with light and music and included refreshments offered by local businesses.
The day began with water games for the youngest attendees at the Plaça d’Anselm Clavé, featuring entertainment by Batukafonts, who led a parade through the streets to the Casal Serra de Galliners, creating a festive atmosphere.
In the afternoon, the exhibition by the Grup TT was inaugurated at the Casa de Cultura, showcasing works created during the course. Mayor Elisabeth Oliveras and Councillor for Culture, Bea Artiel, thanked the group for their involvement. The exhibition will be open throughout the Major Festival.
