Throughout the day, various areas in the town center will host a wide range of activities, from traditional and board games to more modern pursuits like robotics, chess, role-playing games, and virtual reality. The fair, now in its third edition, introduces notable new features this year, including “Escapa’t per Sant Quirze”, an Escape City challenge with riddles and tasks throughout the streets, and “Vermuts de Joc” (Game Vermouths), which will involve bars and restaurants in the program.
The tour of the municipality through games will be spread across several locations. Pau Casals Avenue will feature street games, giant games, and an introduction to chess. Anselm Clavé Square will focus on board games, with family and children's demonstrations, games in English, miniature painting, Kapla construction, and an adapted zone for visually impaired individuals, alongside the “Jocs del demà” (Games of Tomorrow) space dedicated to new game prototypes.
At La Patronal, activities for children aged 0-6 will be combined with hidden role-playing games and radio-controlled car races. This venue will also host the Escape City “Escapa’t per Sant Quirze”, with a prize draw for an indoor flight experience for participating teams. The Casal Serra de Galliners and Sala Muriel Casals will host robotics workshops, an Escape Box, virtual reality experiences, and cooperative games, as well as a low sensory stimulation room for neurodivergent individuals.
The Sala Muriel Casals will also host the Puzzle Contest, requiring pre-registration. At the Casa de Cultura Pintor Vila-Puig, there will be role-playing sessions, and various bars and restaurants will join in with Vermuts de Joc.
The pre-event program for SQV Juga includes, from September 8th to 28th, the exhibition Elizabeth Magie: The Secret History of Monopoly at the Marcel Ayats Library, with a guided tour on September 25th. Additionally, the library will offer a talk-workshop on board games with designer Diego García, an intergenerational games day, and open sessions. Local schools and institutes will also organize workshops for 6th-grade primary and 1st-year secondary students.
From September 21st to 26th, participating shops will present the game “[Qui és Qui?]” (Who is Who?), where shop windows will become part of the challenge to identify establishments. Entry forms can be deposited at La Patronal until 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 26th, before the draw for shopping vouchers and board games at 6 PM.
