The citizens of Sant Quirze del Vallès turned out in large numbers to enjoy the Major Festival, characterized by popular culture, tradition, and a diverse program. The activities combined established events with new proposals, attracting significant participation in events such as the Popular Race, the Sandwich Contest, the Homemade Flying Machines, and various activities organized by local entities.
This year, some events changed location, such as the fideuà (noodle dish), moved to Parc de les Morisques with a positive reception. The marquee at the Muriel Casals hall, a new feature for the elderly, was also highlighted. The involvement of associations, restaurants, and businesses was crucial in transforming various parts of the municipality into meeting points.
High temperatures necessitated adjustments to some activities, like the parade, which proceeded without fire. Despite challenges, two highly anticipated events for the closing night, the traditional botifarrada (sausage feast) and the fireworks display, were able to take place.
The final day featured family activities, performances by SV Dance Studio and Gimnàs Montserrat Creus, and the traveling show “Pista, si us plau!” by Pentina el Gat. The evening concluded with the botifarrada in Carrer Priorat, sea shanties by the group Ultramar, and mulled rum prepared by members of the Casal Serra de Galliners.
