Six companies from Rubí have successfully completed the Sustainable Industry Program, an initiative driven by the Diputació de Barcelona and the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce. The program has guided small and medium-sized industrial companies in their transition towards more sustainable, competitive models aligned with environmental, social, and governance criteria.
A total of seven Rubí-based companies initially showed interest and enrolled in the program. Six of them —Alsico Iberia, Arogreen, Decopak, Escuder, Inkator, and Vicente Torns— have now finished. These six companies represent approximately 29% of the 21 companies that completed the program overall, demonstrating a high level of involvement from Rubí's industrial sector in sustainability-oriented initiatives.
The Sustainable Industry Program aligns with the strategy of the Rubí Circular Economy Network (XEC Rubí), which connects companies with knowledge, resources, and opportunities to drive the circular economy and enhance business competitiveness. Five of the seven interested Rubí companies are part of XEC Rubí, with four of them completing the program, reinforcing the network's role in connecting the business community with resources, knowledge, and collaborative projects.
The 21 companies that completed the program awarded it an average score of 9.52 out of 10. Highly valued aspects include personalized technical support, practical tools, knowledge gained on double materiality and sustainability reporting standards for SMEs, experience sharing among companies, and the program's practical, in-person nature.
Companies have also expressed interest in continuing follow-up and exchange spaces and delving deeper into specific technical content, indicating the initiative's positive reception and the desire for ongoing progress in this area. Beyond technical knowledge, the program has enabled companies to structure a strategic sustainability plan tailored to their reality, organize available information, identify and prioritize key actions, and define a roadmap for gradual advancement.
The Sustainable Industry Program also aligns with the objectives of the Rubí Circular Economy Network, the Rubí Industrial Competitiveness Table (TCIR), and the Circular and Digital Economy Master Plan, consolidating a shared strategy for industrial transformation in the municipality.
The XEC Rubí offers comprehensive and free support to help companies identify challenges and opportunities, and to access information, training, specialized advice, and collaborative projects aimed at improving business competitiveness in the circular economy.
