A significant sinkhole has led to the closure of two lanes on Terrassa's Jacquard Avenue this Thursday, impacting circulation between the Cementiri Vell and Vallparadís neighborhoods.

The incident occurred in the final stretch of the avenue, between Prat de la Riba and the carretera de Castellar, heading east. The Terrassa Municipal Police quickly cordoned off the area with cones to ensure driver safety. Initially, one lane was closed towards carretera de Castellar.
This Friday morning, the Public Space Management service replaced the cones with metal plates covering the hole, allowing for some traffic normalization. Meanwhile, technicians have begun inspecting the affected sewer system.
Around midday, according to municipal sources, the decision was made to fully signpost the area to carry out the necessary repairs. The two lanes on the south side have been closed, and one of the lanes on the north side has been opened to facilitate the exit of vehicles from Plaça del Doctor Robert or Salmerón.
The Terrassa City Council has not yet set a date for the definitive resolution of the problem, although it is expected that the works will last for several days.
This incident is part of a series of sinkholes that have recently appeared in different parts of the city, such as on Gutenberg street or Torrella street, affecting mobility and requiring municipal interventions to repair the sewer system and pavement.
