The Spanish water polo national team, featuring CN Sabadell players Sergi Cabanas, Edu Lorrio, and Óscar Asensio, debuted with an overwhelming 28-3 victory against Israel at the European Championship in Belgrade on Saturday, January 10.

The squad, coached by David Martín, left no room for doubt against Israel, achieving a 9-0 run in the first quarter that set the tone for the entire match. This decisive 28-3 win boosts the team's confidence as they aim to defend their continental title in Belgrade.

A victory of authority that secures the first points in Group C and demonstrates the team's strength ahead of future commitments.

The contribution of the CN Sabadell athletes was significant. Goalkeeper Edu Lorrio defended the goal for the first three quarters, while Óscar Asensio was a top scorer with four goals, and Sergi Cabanas added two goals.
The top scorers overall were Álvaro Granados (6 goals), Alberto Munárriz (5), and Asensio (4). Spain's next challenge will be on Monday at 8:30 PM against Serbia, one of the tournament's strongest contenders.
