The Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council experienced a heated plenary session this Friday, February 28, centered on discrepancies regarding municipal census removals and administrative management.

PP councilor Alfredo Bergua criticized the spread of inaccurate reports claiming Vox had forced the removal of thousands of immigrants. Bergua stated that official data provided by the Town Hall does not support these claims.
Deputy Mayor Jordi Puigneró defended the current administration's actions, noting that over 4,000 removals have been processed to address irregularities. He attributed the situation to a lack of oversight during the 2019-2023 term.

"I requested the official census data and it does not match at all what has been said in recent months."

The session saw a walkout by CUP councilors after Puigneró blamed their party for previous census management. Spokesperson Marco Simarro described the move as a lack of institutional respect and criticized the use of the plenary for political attacks.
