The center of Terrassa will host the first edition of Vespreig this Saturday, an initiative blending commerce, dining, and music to energize the city.

The Raval de Montserrat in Terrassa will be the setting this Saturday for the first edition of Vespreig, a proposal driven by the Associació Terrassa Centre and the Gremi d’Hostaleria de Terrassa, with the support of the City Council. The aim is to revitalize the streets during the afternoon and evening, fostering city life in the urban center.
The event will commence at 17:00 and run until 22:30, featuring approximately 17 participating establishments. Shops will remain open until 21:00, while the Raval area will offer music by a DJ, a joint bar, craft beer, and a gastronomic selection. The music will be located in front of the Mercat de la Independència facade.
Xavier Linares, president of the Associació Terrassa Centre, highlighted the importance of collaboration with the Gremi d’Hostaleria to generate street activity and life, particularly during September. The intention is for this initial experience to pave the way for future synergies between the two entities.
Similarly, Xavier Gómez, president of the Gremi d’Hostaleria, described Vespreig as a "first step to work together with commerce and revitalize the center." The initiative also seeks to retain leisure spending within the city and offer new proposals to address current sector challenges.
Music during the afternoon will be provided by La Mítica, with a repertoire spanning hits from the eighties, nineties, and 2000s, mixed with more contemporary tracks. Vespreig is envisioned as a space for strolling, shopping, and enjoying gastronomy in the heart of Terrassa.
Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Commerce, Xavier Cardona, emphasized the union between the commercial and hospitality sectors, calling it a "very good synergy." He noted that the in-person experience is a key element for the competitiveness of local businesses against e-commerce.
Additionally, the presentation marked the launch of the 15th edition of the Joc de Tapes (Tapas Game), running from September 18th to October 18th with 22 participating establishments. This gastronomic route will offer tapas for 5 euros and include categories like Traditional Tapas and Innovative Tapas, with prizes for participants.
Joc de Tapes customers can compete for prizes such as tickets to PortAventura World or the Barça Museum, as well as a draw for a lunch or dinner for two among those who complete the booklet with stamps from all establishments.
Gómez highlighted Terrassa's high gastronomic standard and the goal for the Joc de Tapes to showcase local cuisine and generate street activity.
