The Museu de Terrassa has prepared an agenda of activities for June 10th, World Modernism Day, with a special focus on female contributions to the movement.

The city of Terrassa will join the celebration of World Modernism Day with a series of activities organized by the Museu de Terrassa. The main objective is to bring the city's rich modernist heritage closer to its citizens through open house days, exhibitions, and guided tours.
This year, the day will focus on ‘The Women of Modernism’, aiming to give visibility to the numerous female artists, creators, craftswomen, patrons, and key figures who have often been excluded from traditional historical narratives. Furthermore, the celebration coincides with the centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí, a pivotal figure in Catalan modernism.
The program, mostly concentrated on Wednesday, June 10th, includes a family workshop titled «La mainada al museu» (Children at the Museum) at 5:30 PM, where children aged 6 and over can participate in a ‘modernist trencadís’ workshop. Open house days are also offered at the Casa Alegre de Sagrera, one of Terrassa's most emblematic modernist buildings, and at the Castell Cartoixa de Vallparadís, which hosts the exhibition «Alexandre de Riquer i la configuració del modernisme local» (Alexandre de Riquer and the Configuration of Local Modernism). These open houses will take place from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 4 PM to 7 PM.
As a closing event, on Sunday, June 14th at 11 AM, at the Castell Cartoixa de Vallparadís, the guided tour «Les dones en el Modernisme terrassenc» (Women in Terrassa's Modernism) will take place. This activity, linked to the exhibition on Alexandre de Riquer, aims to uncover the fundamental roles women played in the cultural life of Terrassa during the modernist era.
