Terrassa FC, the Terrassa City Council, and the CAAD are hosting an animal adoption awareness day this Sunday, February 1, at the Olympic Stadium.

The action comes at a crucial time, as the Terrassa Domestic Animal Care Center (CAAD) handled 1,349 animals last year. However, only 68 dogs and 279 cats found a permanent home during 2025, while the rate of animals entering the municipal facilities continues to outpace adoptions.
Under the slogan “Up Terrassa! Up Adoptions!“, the initiative will take place at the Terrassa Olympic Stadium before the match between Terrassa FC and Barça Atlètic at six in the evening. The campaign involves Voluntaris Gossos Terrassa.
Starting shortly before the initial whistle, a collection point for materials (blankets, coats, cat scratchers, carriers) will be set up at the tribune entrance. Those who donate will receive a free ticket to the match, with regular prices ranging between 5 and 10 euros.

"These types of actions are key to bringing the CAAD closer to the public and to reminding everyone that adoption is an act of responsibility and commitment to animal welfare."

Noel Duque · Councillor for Animal Welfare
To maximize visibility for the animals, some players will carry dogs from the CAAD ready for adoption as they enter the field. Furthermore, at halftime, a video promoting adoption and responsible ownership, featuring club footballers, will be screened.
