With less than a week until the start of the Festa Major (main festival), Terrassa is finalizing preparations for one of the year's most significant celebrations. From Friday, July 3rd, to Wednesday, July 8th, the city will offer an extensive program of cultural, musical, and festive events. Alongside music and cultural activities, sports will play a prominent role with 58 diverse events organized by 35 local sports entities.
Vicente Gómez, coordinator of the basketball section at Club Natació Terrassa, highlighted the wide variety of sports activities this year during the festival's presentation. He emphasized that "sports also play an important role, as there is great variety and everyone can enjoy these activities." Gómez added that these offerings "provide a really cool opportunity, as you can do them with family, neighbors, and friends," concluding that "we celebrate, we play sports, and we build the city."
Among the most notable sports activities is the XXXVII Pedalada Popular (Popular Cycling Tour), scheduled for Saturday, July 4th, at 10 AM. The approximately 6-kilometer route will begin at plaça Ricard Camí and conclude at parc de Vallparadís, where a bicycle gymkhana will take place.
Another anticipated event is the Cursa-Caminada de Festa Major (Festival Race-Walk), now in its 46th edition. This event will feature two categories: a one-kilometer race for children and a 6-kilometer race for adults. Both routes will start from plaça Ricard Camí.
In addition to these main events, the sports program includes other activities such as a 3x3 basketball tournament, diving baptisms, fencing exhibitions, martial arts activities, archery, and exhibitions of motorcycles and sidecars.
