The initiative, promoted by Bloomberg Philanthropies through the international program Youth Climate Action Fund, seeks to foster collaboration between local administrations and youth. Non-profit organizations, youth associations, educational centers, and other public institutions can submit their proposals over a six-week period.
Project selection will be made through an open and transparent call, evaluated by an independent committee. The implementation of selected projects can extend until April 15, 2027.
Terrassa is one of 300 global cities chosen to participate in this initiative. Participating municipalities will receive an initial endowment of $50,000, distributed as small grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per initiative.
The City Council has conducted prior outreach to environmental and youth entities in the city to explain the subsidy lines. Key themes include environmental education and awareness, combating climate change, urban stewardship through the "Conreant Terrassa" urban garden program, improving public health, and promoting local agriculture.
